Hi folks, it's midnight here in Texas, and I have been tentatively diagnosed with Behcet's, although there is some area for reconsideration, lupus or MS is a possibility as well...and one of the number of things I have been dealing with is weakness and numbness in different parts of my body, on and off. I am still waiting to be seen by a rheumy, (1st visit is in June) but tonight it has gotten much worse than it has been, with numbness in my face and hands, feet and legs, and wherever else it's hiding. I have been out in the sun a lot over the past weekend, and I wonder if it has anything to do with it. Anyway, I am wondering if I should continue to wait it out, go to the ER, or should I just show up at the rheumy's clinic unannounced and sit in their waiting room until I am seen. Any thoughts?
Numbness taking over...: Hi folks, it's midnight... - Behçet's UK
Numbness taking over...
Go to ER! Numbness that is increasing could be a sign of other complications. Who knows where your Blood Pressure is at etc. Err on the side of caution ! The ER visit may also expedite your diagnosis and/or a specialist appt. Listen to the Nurse svp!
Good luck and let us know how u make out

Thanks, it went away a few hours later, but if it gets that bad again, I think I will go to the ER.
Hi, I get numbness too with my Behcets. Most of the weird neurological symptoms are with my legs but my brain also is affected - confusion/ loss of consciousness. With any new symptom, you need to see a doctor. Also I note you've been out in the sun a lot. The sunshine, sadly, always sets my symptoms off so I avoid it. Time for a big hat, shades and parasol??
Haha. Yeah, tell me about it. I have this big ugly hat. I guess I need to wear it more often.
