Hello there Oceanna,

I can relate to that symptom. The last two days have been really irritating and my arms are itching at the moment as though someone has put itching powder down the sleeves of my shirt.

I also get an itchy scalp from time to time and this evening that's being annoying as well.

I have to use Simple shampoo as ordinary shampoos cause an adverse reaction.

I sometimes get lesions on my scalp as well as my back, shoulders, chest, legs and back side.

So you are not alone and many thanks for your back channel reply to my message.

Best,

Stephen.

Yes, here too. :)

Firstly, I'm sure you know not to scratch (! I do without thinking about it, resulting in scary-looking bruises) and if the itching becomes too much you can get creams that will help from the Pharmacist. They contain a local anaesthetic so you can't feel the prickling. At this time of year, I think many people's skin gets a bit dry which can make you itch, so it's worth looking at what you put on your skin. Personally, the best discovery I've made is using straight almond oil all over after a shower - it locks everything in so I'm comfortable for 24hr.

In time, you'll work out what your triggers are and don't feel alone; this thing is a constant puzzle for most of us.

I have not gotten a final diagnosis yet but my Rheumatologist is testing me for Behcet's. I have a lot of the symptoms, i am pretty nervous about this. I also have peripheral neuropathy and celiac disease. are there any foods that aggrevate behcet's? I have not been able to find a lot of information about this disease, the unknown is very scary.

I've had intensely itchy skin combined with a sensation of needles stabbing my skin and bugs crawling on me from head to toe.The only places that aren't affected are the palms of my hands and soles of my feet.No obvious rash, other than redness from occasional moments of loss of control, when I scratch, which makes it worse. If I have a hair brush against my face, my skin goes crazy. It rapidly moves around to different areas of my skin. I will get breaks of a few hours, then Wham it's back for 3-4 hours. It started a few years ago,but the attacks have increased greatly in frequency.I can't get more than a couple of hour sleep in 24hrs...I have no major stress going on in my life (Other than this misery of itching and sleep deprivation).Right now Im on the verge of tears.

I've tried all the stuff my GP recommended, plus a variety of "helps " found online, but nothing has worked, but briefly. My Doctor seems kind of apathetic ,since apparently this is a common problem that frequently has no solution.Ive scheduled an appointment with an Allergist, and seriously considering seeing a Dermatologist and a Neurologist as well.

I don't know how people can live with this without going totally mad, especially knowing that it is probably going to continue the rest of their lives !

Hey, I feel your frustration ...listen I want to offer you a little of relief...when it hits me hard...I get up and rub ice on my arm until its numb. Then DON"T SCRATCH...the itch seems to subside some when I do this...it will be itchy as it dries but if you DON"T SCRATCH then it eases up and you can sleep...that's what I do. Hope this helps!! Aloha, Monique

It could be parasite. Please check.

I have a similar problems. I would awaken at 2:30 until 3:30 every night with a feeling of bugs moving around my body. I did parasite cleansing and removed many parasites but now I have this prickly feeling on my body. It gets worse at night and causes me not to sleep. The only thing I have found to help is taking 3-4 ibuprofin. Then I can sleep but I don't like taking pills. I have been going to the gym and when I first start sweating it gets bad even if it was not bothering me before the workout. It will subside within about 15 minutes. I take a 25 minute sauna and the prickly feeling will go away during the day and be less intense at night. This can drive you nuts. The longer I live with it the easier it is to cope. My feeling is it is caused by candida and your immune system. Just my guess. I have recently moved to GA from California. They have a lot of pollen here. I thought it could be a soap allergy. I will be seeing a gp and dermatologist in two weeks.

Hi, I started parasite cleaning and started having this prickly porcupine needle runs around everywhere especiallly if u take the lemon and acid drinks. Sometimes no prickly, sometimes they are. I think n hope it will go away. Iam going to request gastrointestinal test to see if I have tapeworm and wage a war against it. .you can also get like somebody scratched you on the skin and that's due to parasite. I don't know how I got it. Metronidazole Didn't work only gave me dizziness and nausea and vomiting. Only after that antibiotic got worse. So will see after test. Good luck.

I had this and it turned out to be dry skin even though it did not look like my idea of dry skin. The immunologist recommended a combination of 3 moisturers and it did really work

I know your reply was 4 years ago but what 3 moisturisers did you use? I have the same thing now!

I went to an Allergist and he ran a series of tests after a very through exam. The results came back Monday, and it appears to be Mastocytosis (Some kind of funky Autoimmune problem) .Now it's time for more tests, could include Bone Marrow to try and find out if/where I have a Cancer or infection that's turned my autoimmune system into permanent attack mode :-( The long term prognosis? It seems there isn't any cure, they just try and keep you comfortable.

Hi, I used to get this a couple of years ago. It came on monthly and would last around 2 weeks. Always worse at night. I thought it was bedbugs but it definitely wasn't! That is what it felt like though and I got very little sleep during the flares. I changed my diet and haven't had it since......I also try to only use natural shower products/creams (Dr Bronner is good). I can only imagine it is some autoimmune reaction to something and yet another strange behcet's symptom. I cut out gluten, refined sugar and processed food and cut down on dairy. Eat lots of vegetables, especially green ones. They really help. X

I have an itchy dry scalp and skin for so many years it got so bad I suffered hair loss under a dermatologist separately as only recently diagnosed with behcets last Friday. The itchiness has been bad this weekend😣 just started on colchicine
