I have had what seems to be vaginal thrush for weeks. I have taken 6 fluconazole tablets 72 hours apart but still have a problem. I am unable to use a pessary. My doctor has suggested I use vaginal gel which I believe is HRT. This is a big decision and I am reluctant to take it as one side effect can be vulvodinia. Does anyone have any advice?

See a menopausal specialist. It may be lichen sclerosis.
Do a vaginal secretion test and also sensitivies to give you exactly what is good for you
Agree with Moo here. The essential part is to confirm it is genuinely a candida infection and not another problem like bacterial vaginosis. You have mentioned what your exact symptoms are, or what tests ( if any ) have been done to confirm the diangosis. Have you been examined ?
I’ve had a swab test which was negative. I have some vaginal irritation and soreness which has been going on for some weeks. If it was bacterial vaginosis it would have shown up on the swab test. Have you any advice?
