Bleeding on the combined pill.

northatlanticocean profile image

I’m on the combined pill and have had very light bleeding. The pill I take means that I don’t have to take a seven day break period. Should I be worried that the pill isn’t effective and I’m still having my period? Is that possible?

If you are taking the progesterone only POP pill , unscheduled bleeding is common . This not your period, it is hormone induced. Check your smears and chlamydia testing are up to date if appropriate. It does not in any way mean the POP is less effective, if you are taking it correctly.
