Combined Pill

I am on the combined pill (Rigevidon specifically) and I have a pack where 9 of the pills have fallen out (due to being squished when moving houses). I am currently on a pack that has all the pills in it. But if I take the pack that has the missing pills, will this mess up my cycle? I went on the pill to try and be able to get my pills regular (and lighter) and don't want to risk messing the cycle up by taking a slightly shorter pack. Is there any way I can take the pack (e.g. would it help if I started it straight away after the pack I'm on with no break and then start another pack straight after?)? Thank you.

Dear pinkblue,

It's perfectly acceptable to take pill packs back-to-back without interruption. Many women find it convenient to do this and simply skip the 7-day pill free break. So if you've mislaid 9 of your pills from your 'old' pack, start the next full pack (as you've done) and continue taking the pills for the next 21 days and finish off any left over from your 'old' pack. You can then decide either to take a 7-day break or just press on with a fresh pack.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no harm in taking the combined pill without breaks.

Rgds,

Adhari

I have done it that I’ve slipped my period, in just concerned whether the missing pills from my pack (so a shorter cycle) will effect it at all.

Thank you
