Copper coil cause Thrush?

Has anyone experienced long term thrush with the copper coil? I did the 6 months treatment (one pill a week) and whilst on that I was fine, I finished a couple of weeks ago and it's back. It's not full on thrush but enough to be annoying and making me uncomfortable. Its got to be linked with this! The NHS website does mention it also.

Six months is an extremely long time to be on candida treatment. The NHS website is wrong, the IUD is linked to BV and not candida. Who prescribed you 6 months of fluconazole ? what testing was done ?

Yes! Every month now a week before my period I get thrush. I had my coil fitted at least 3 years ago. My period was heavy anyway and then it got worse. Now I have one really heavy day (super plus tampon and towel) and it lasts for ten days. It had sometimes stopped then started again. I have also had light bleeding in between period. Also get sore after sex. So seriously considering speaking to doctor about having it removed. However not keen on going back to passion killer condoms. Mind you at the moment our sex life is hardly existent (once a month average). I’m tired a lot! My friends said copper IUD was best thing they had done, they have fab sex life but not happened to me. 😔
