Could I be pregnant
Dear Boater,
Provided you've been taking your last pack of oral contraception correctly, the chances of being pregnant are very small. Withdrawal bleeding (not breakthrough) varies in timing and amount. It is not always 'like clockwork.'
Take the next pack as per schedule, after your one week break.
If you're very worried, then take a pregnancy test but I suggest you delay this for three weeks or so.
Rgds,
Adhari.
Why would you delay taking a pregnancy test?
Hi Boater,
It's down to the sensitivity of the urine pregnancy test.
Here's the official NHS line:
nhs.uk/common-health-questi...
Specifically in answer to your question, "If you're not sure, it's a good idea to wait at least 3 weeks after you think you may have conceived before doing a test."
So I'm assuming (worse case scenario) you could have conceived in the last few days of your contraceptive cycle. If that's possible, then you should wait three weeks to get a reliable result. If you test now, and it's negative you can't be 100% sure it's an accurate (aka false-negative) result.
And you'd be wasting GBP 7-9.
Rgds,
Adhari.
As long as you’ve taken the pills correctly the risk is very low.
Mine normally comes on day 4 however last month I was also really worried like you as mine started to come on day 7 just as I was starting the pills again. I was worried by this so I bought the clear blue early detection test and it was negative, if you’re worried still and your period dosent come at all then buy the early detection tests and take them a week apart
