Hot in pregnancy

Hello,

I’m 5 months pregnant and for the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed that my body feels warmer to touch. I can feel the heat radiating off of me. I have been taking my temperature and it’s always between 36°-37°. I’ve read it’s normal to feel hotter during pregnancy. I still get cold during the nights but I just wanted some reassurance. Especially with the current situation whenever I begin to feel warmer than usual, I freak out and make myself more hot by panicking.

Hi Daisy1904,

Congratulations on your pregnancy. It's good that you've checked your body temperature and that it's normal. That's very reassuring. Feeling hot, especially in the later stages of pregnancy is perfectly normal. Your metabolic rate increases during pregnancy (by up to 25%), especially from the second trimester onwards.

Stay safe from Covid-19 and wishing you joy and happiness for the future!

Kindest regards,

Adhari
