Avoid implant

Really want to tell people about my story so you don't have to suffer like me. Went to my appointment to get my implant. Nurse injected my with anesthesia but didn't wait for it to take effect. I screamed the place down but she just kept going. After suffering through that aghony she put my implant in with some sort of gun like device. I remember the pain like it was today even though it was almost 8 years ago. After she was finished put my bandage on not gently either and exited the room without a word. After that my arm was it constant pain even worse when moving. Really effected my day to day life. I also gained weight and had pretty bad mood swings and couldn't wear anything that was even close to being tight round my arms or I would be in constant pain. After about 2 years I couldn't stand the pain so I went to get it removed. The 3 people took turns trying to get it out and only succeeded it making a huge almost inch wide scar in my arm. Eventually after an hour and a half they gave up and made me an appointment to see someone more experienced a week later. She managed to get it after about half an hour and now I have 3 huge scars on my arm. Absolutely ridiculous if I wasn't so young at the time I would have sued the person who put it in to begin with.

Im sorry to hear you had a difficult experience with the implant. Many women however find this an excellent form of contraception. Nurses will usually give pre and post insertion care advice. Sometimes they can be difficult to remove but this is unusual. The device is very small , less than the thickness of the inner part of a bic biro .
