Slightly confused and need an answer... I have been taking the Microgynon pill for 8 months and when I went back to the doctors they prescribed me with Rigevidon. Is this normal to swap and is this okay just to start taking as they have 2 different hormones in?

They are the same pill, essentially. Rigevidon is the "non-branded" version of microgynon. Both pills have the same active ingredients but the non-active ones are slightly different. I was on microgynon for about six years when my doctor prescribed rigevidon to save some money.

Keep an eye out - some women are fine with the swap but it wasn't right for me - I bled for two months and ended up asking my doctor to put me back on microgynon, as spotting wasn't a usual side effect for me while I was on the pill but not a pill break.

Best of luck and let me know how you get on!
