I can’t have sex with my boyfriend and I may have thrush

Me and my partner have tried to have sex now many times over the last month ( it’s both of our first times) however whenever he gets inside of me it’s really painful, I know it should be uncomfortable for your first time but this is real pain. I also think I may have thrush as I’m showing some of the signs, is this why it’s causing me so much pain? I’m scared to go to a doctor incase they ask to look, will they? Or will I just describe my symptoms and then they’ll give me the pill? Please help!

You have to go to the OBGYN. And in the future, no doctor will just talk to you and take your word for it that you have anything. They will run tests and examine you to treat you accordingly. If you're afraid to find out you have something other than you think, it's best to find out now rather than later. Waiting longer could make things worse for you and your overall health. Also, it's a good idea to stop having sex until you know what you're faced with.

Good luck

Because it’s your first times , you both are not use to having sex . You have to first get sexual Aroused and become “wet” before your boyfriend can enter you . It sounds like to me your having dry sex , you could even buy some lube to make this better also.as a result of him entering you when your dry and not ready for sex it is causing you thrush and I could imagine it not feeling great at all. Take a break from the sex for now . There is this thrush cream you can get called “Canesten“ it’s for internal and external. One you use it , it will get rid of the thrush symptoms and the you can begin having sex again.

I hope this helps.

But bear in mind that is not indicated to use Canesten cream on irritated skin. It could cause more problems. Best advice is to get to the doctor and they will probably get a sample of your discarge to examine it. There is no shame to go to the doctor. They are very used to this and they will only prescribe you a treatment. After you get the treatment maybe you will consider to get some lube that will help you and your partner. It will make things a bit easier and not that painful for both of you.

Canesten Thrush External Cream relieves irritation of the vulva which is caused by vaginal thrush. Although it provides relief from the external irritation, it cannot treat the internal cause. Combination products, like Canesten Thrush Combi Pessary & External Cream can help you tackle both the internal cause and the external symptoms.

The best advice is to see a qualified general practitioner (a doctor).

There could be a number of factors. Some may just be mechanical - there may be some hymemnal areas that are causing you to feel pain. You might have vaginismus if you are very worried about having sex for the first time. You haven't mentioned what " the signs " are of candida that you are worried about. You can self treat for candida with a pill or a pessary ( pill for the vagina ) but of course this will only work if that the issue .

They will look. However, they are professionals and think nothing of it. As a young woman you will have to go many many times in your life for vaginal exams, and you will get use to it. Often sex does not hurt, just the first time but for many times. I can remember many years ago giving up on it after a few times and waiting 2 more years. I can now say, since then I have had a very long and healthy sex life. Just slow down love. Do see your doctor, as all young women should when they become sexually active. Perhaps you have an allergy to the latex in the condoms you are using. Be safe!
