Had a copper coil fitted 3 days ago and have some heavy period like bleeding altho period not due for 14 days and not long since finushed a period ... is this normal?

By copper coil, are you talking about Paragard? (The copper IUD)

I have had Paragard for 4 years now and can clearly remember the horror of the first month. Good news - it gets better. I fainted during insertion, had cramping bad enough to be prescribed prescription pain meds for, and had bleeding the first few weeks after....I considered getting it taken it. However, the doctor explained that as long as you can feel the strings, it is most likely just your body adjusting to the object that was just put inside you. Definitely keep in touch with your doctor about your symptoms but things should be back to normal in 6 months and getting progressively better. Hope this helps!
