Instant STD/STE Home Tests

Hi,

I appreciate they will not be as good as clinic tests, but are Instant STD/STI home tests reliable or OK to use if you can't get to a clinic?

For example, the Self Diagnostics kits (selfdiagnostics.co.uk)?

If so, does anyone have any recommendations for kits?

If you don't have symptoms my local Health Authority now issues a kit from:

You no longer need to go to the clinic, and the test (funded locally) is free. I can recommend this service - it is *very* quick (quicker than the clinic), and just as accurate. You post the samples back to a lab (in box provided) and they do the tests. Bear in mind it is used if you merely want to be screened and don't have any symptoms - if you think you've got something the clinic sees you personally.

This differs from selfdiagnostics.co.uk, from what I can see, in that selfdiagnostics.co.uk promises a test with an immediate result in your own home. No delay, true, but no lab involved. I can't vouch for that.
