Contraception and vaping

Hi, I'm new here. I'm 39 and after a long break wanted to go back on the pill. I quit smoking four years ago but I vape. I told my GP all this and was surprised to be told I could go on the combined pill, I'm a bit worried because although I don't smoke I do vape and therefore get nicotine and combined with my age I am concerned about blood clots, strokes etc but my GP didn't seem concerned. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this, I'm wondering if I'd be better off on the mini pill

If your GP is not concerned then you should not be either as they have your full medical history. You could try ringing the NHS helpline for further reassurance or for alternative options if you really are concerned. One point though perhaps would be telling your GP how much you vape and the level on nicotine that you are vaping.
