Uti caused by std?

So, ever since I was about 13 I've been getting uti's like 2 or 3 times a year. When I started having sex at 15 there wasn't any change in how often I got a uti.

However, last year I got a terrible uti that last about 2 months and I was on amoxicillin for about a month and it went away but I still felt discomfort during sex and everything felt off and then I was okay for a bit. Well January if this past year came and I got another uti that never fully went away as my body didn't respond very well to the medication. I had minor uti symptoms flare up every now and then and sex was sometimes uncomfortable. Well, eventually I was put on another medication for my uti and that helped a bit but not a lot. Finally I go on amoxicillin for an ear infection and I felt a lot better, ironically haha. Well, I still feel slight pressure as though I have to pee on occasion.

So I'm sexually active with my boyfriend and I didn't have any severe issues with my uti's until a month after we got back together.

I've been having this issue for a year now and I've had a few sexual partners through that year. What's the chance that my uti issue this past year has something to do with an std? Am I likely to have chlamydia or something else as a cause for this ongoing problem? Every time I've been tested for a uti it's come back as a positive for whatever bacteria would cause a uti, but does that mean anything if there's another underlying issue? I'm worried that maybe ive gotten an std and didn't realize it and the only issue as a result of the std is a uti... how likely is that to be the case? Would anyone I've been with have had any issues at this point?

Yes, STI's can infect the bladder, and kidneys and even the heart if it's allowed to go on untreated without adequate or the right antibiotics. And yes, the antibiotics you got for your ear infection sounds like they were the right ones for your UTI in the end. Treating UTI's these days can often mean trying a few different antibiotics.

Go get tested for sti's. have you got an sexual health clinic near you? It's just a walk in appointment they ask you to fill in a form with your details they won't send anything by post just say you want your results through text or phone call.

You much have to wait up 2 hours for space but it all depends if it's really busy.

In the actual appointment they will speak to you and ask you your sexual background if you pratice safe sex and they will suggest for you to go on birth control and give you free condoms.

The test it self will be a blood sample which will test for hiv/aids and syphilis and a swab which you can do your self with tests for chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

You will you get your results in 2 weeks time
