I've just been treated for chlamydia when can I get re tested to make sure that it's all gone? Do I have to leave it a couple of weeks?

Once you have had your 2 tablets you have to abstain from sex for a week.

That's all u have to do.

You don't have to be retested .

I know because I have been through this last year .

As long as you didn't have sex with any untreated partner and you abstained from sex for a week you don't have to retest - if you are in doubt about that at all or have symptoms you are worried about the the period between treatment and retest is six weeks as too soon gives false positives.

Leave it 6-8 weeks for a chlamydia test of cure before re-screening after treatment, to be sure you get an accurate result. (Different infections, different lengths of time.) It shouldn't be necessary if you took the medication correctly, though, but for peace of mind, some places suggest a rescreen... others don't. Ensure your partner has also been treated, you've both waited a week since the latter of you is treated before having sex again, or abstain until retest if really worried.
