22 months old boy diagnosed with ulcerative colitis

Hi my 22 month old baby boy has had a severe infection . He has been in hospital for 5 days with antibiotics and then his bleeding started from back passage .And on further investigations and a biopsy it came back as ulcerative colitis . Does anyone has any experience what to expect . We had come down to india for a holiday and this is what has happened . Any advise would be appreciated.
