Lost the baby

I cannot believe I'm writing this post.

The sonographer couldn't find the sac and heartbeat.

She was insisting you could would be able to see something on a tummy scan but did transvaginal nothing found.

I'm shocked I hadn't cramped or bled heavily- I did with both of my chemical pregnancies.

So 2 chemical pregnancies, late loss of Amelia at 20 weeks pregnant and now a loss at 7.5 weeks pregnant.

I have been told to attend EPU for assessment- pregnancy in unknown location?

None of this makes sense- I had no cramps no heavy bleeding just spotting and haven't passed anything that looked like a baby. I still have strong symptoms and pregnancy tests She said sac could be hiding behind blood? What?!

I am going to compose a list of questions. I will want to be referred to recurring miscarriage coz I know believe there is an issue with holding onto a pregnancy. My daughter Francesca I had steroids in the early weeks as I did with Amelia. That is the only difference with those two pregnancies and the other 2. With COVID19 o was told they aren't prescribing steroids - is this still the case? Is there a way to get steroids prescribed privately if nhs are not allowing?

Oh Jess I’m so sorry to read this. Really hope you get an appointment quickly with EPU and they can give you some more answers.

I’m sure I’ve seen some people on the fertility forum that have managed to get steroids more recently so hopefully as you have a strong case for it, they will let you have them xxx

Thank you I am seeing them tomorrow as I had an appointment booked already with them. I hope they can shed light I don't feel I have been given clear answers. Thanks for the steroid info - tomorrow I will be pushing for that and referral for recurring miscarriage. Xx

Honestly doesn’t sound like she was a great sonographer you had today which doesn’t help things. Glad you have an appointment tomorrow and hopefully get some answers xx

I'm so so sorry Jess!💔 I had steroids but my clinic abroad were ok with that and I bought some abroad. Do you know anyone abroad or heading away that could buy them....they are over the counter meds. I guess they have to check that you dont have what's called a pregnancy of unknown location or outside of the uterus, ectopic etc. Hope you get some answers soon. Massive hugs.xxx

Thank you. My sister lives in Canada - but I'm not sure about customs. I have seen there is a Canadian pharmacy online that you can order them from- if the nhs won't help I will consider that as a option. I'm so sure they kept Francesca safe. Xx

Im so sorry to hear that hun xx sending you 💗. I had a pregnancy in an unknown location unfortunately it turned out to be an eptopic and had to be rushed to emergency surgery, I do hope it’s nothing like that and the rest of your journey is easier in this horrible situation xx

My second pregnancy is bit different then the first one. No much sleeping, more back pain . We had NIPT test done when I was 14 weeks ...so we having another baby girl . We felt first kicks all ready and Sow when I was 17 weeks. She is less kicking...but a lots “pushing me” that makes me wonder what “is she doing there “☺️ that can hurt sometimes...but I wouldn’t change for nothing..

We had so many losses in past year ...4 cycles and 5 embryos....so this time we worry more then before.

We will see little one in couple weeks for 21 weeks scan ....but in mean time when she is to quiet ...I’m checking up on her with a Doppler ☺️ to make sure she is ok .

Hi I'm sorry you're going through this I've had 3 mmc and 2 chemicals. My 3rd mmc we managed to get an early scan at 9w due to the 2 mc prev, we had an abnormal shape sac and couldnt find the yolk sac thought it could be ectopic but I had no symptoms/pain etc my hcg was 17500 and rose to 23000 in 4 days had another scan found a tiny yolk sac and had to wait another 2w which I had started bleeding on and off, but after the 2w no progress was made so iot was blighted had to have a mva at 12w. I hope you get some answers from any tests you get done its really hard not knowing why, we had reoccurring tests and fertility tests everything was "fine".

Hi I feel for you. You have been lucky as I never managed to stay pregnant a mth. I have no children. The hormones after probably wasn't enough to maintain the Pregnancy. I was offered injections on my next attempt as I was allergic to the pessaries. I have heard that wombs over time become unfit to carry as the Endo damage increases by yrs.Are you not afraid as you keep trying the risks you are causing yourself?

I decided, the risks were going up. I at least gave it a shot! It wasn't going to be so I went into career mode!

Thank you. Sorry I was told wrong at private scan. I haven't lost the baby- but the EPU do not know the location of my pregnancy which Is very worrying. My cervix is fully closed- I haven't passed the baby. I tested positive on the urine test at hospital so I had HCG blood tests taken on Wednesday and I have one today. Hopefully this will clear it up. I have no pain but they cannot rule out an ectopic pregnancy and said I could still miscarry ( spotting has stopped) symptoms are still strong. Hopefully as I ovulated that cycle that could've put me behind on my dates and might have been too early to have seen the baby. I don't know what to think I still have no idea if it'll be okay or not Xx

Oh my goodness! What a rollercoaster. You must be all over the place with the emotions and anxiety. I can’t even imagine. Good luck with blood test today, fingers crossed you’ll get another scan soon?! I so hope baby is safe and well away from your tubes xxxx

Thank you. It's just awful not having a definitive answer. If I hadn't been had a scan I would be hopeful it was ok- no pain or heavy bleeding and the spotting stopped (I spot in every pregnancy) I wish I'd left it alone and i think next time if I lose the baby I wouldn't bother with EPU unless it was really heavy bleeding and/or pain. It's so long and drawn out and not given me the reassurance or answers I'd been better off waiting it out to see what happens. I can't understand why they can't locate the baby even if it's ectopic.Totally baffled. I still haven't had my result back from my first blood test.😞 Xx
