Hi all, I hope everyone is well! Just a silly question from me... does anyone else's baby have piercing blue eyes? My Llewy has the most beautiful eyes, they are so light blue, almost grey and I absolutely adore them! I fully expected them to change to brown as both myself and my partner have brown eyes but at 7.5 months they seem to be sticking around. Anyone else got a blue eyed baby from 2 brown eyed parents? I'm hoping he's inherited the blue gene from my Dad's side of the family who all have blue eyes x

Hes gorgeous ๐Ÿ˜ Here hun have a read of this! You and the baby's dad must have a blue eye recessive gene in your family in order for your baby to have blue eyes from 2 brown eyes parents..not 1 of you but both. But interestingly I just learned, it cannot happen the other way around! Both me and my partner have bright blue eyes...yet my mother had dark brown almost black eyes (dad had blue) so I was wondering if maybe our baby could be born with brown eyes...but apparently impossible! Found that so interesting. But here have a read xx

Oh I know!! He's a very sturdy boy. Looks more like 9/10 months than 7 really with all his teeth and being so big ๐Ÿ˜‚

Millie's almost 13 months now and is still mostly in 6-9 month clothes!! At least she's getting plenty of wear out of her stuff ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh bless her, I wish I could say Llewy gets plenty of wear out of things. He is in 9-12 months now and hardly wore any of his 0-3 or 3-6 at all ๐Ÿ˜† little chunk!!

Gorgeous! So interesting how genetics work. I have Hazel eyes (green/brown), partner has brown - I think Isabella will have Hazel eyes like me but still can't work it out. My mum has grey/blue eyes so always wondered if this could have an impact, but from Niki_B's comment it sounds like there is so much more to it! Fascinating!

Hi first of all what a handsome little chap & beautiful eyes! I have green eyes ( Irish grandparents dads side) & my hubby has brown eyes- Francesca has piercing blue eyes! Both olis late father & my late Grandpa both had blue eyes so thatโ€™s where the blue eyes come from! They are beautiful ๐Ÿ˜Š itโ€™s amazing how many different family genes babies can inherit xxx

Aw heโ€™s gorgeous! I have blue/grey eyes and my little boy currently has the same. We had to use a donor and my OH chose someone who had brown eyes like him so I keep imagining that I see his eyes turning brown...but so far they are just like mine at 4 months (and I hope they stay that way ๐Ÿ˜Š) x

I'll be really interested to see how they turn out, I really hope they stay blue. People always comment on his lovely eyes, I absolutely adore them!

Ahh so gorgeous. Hmm all v interesting a. I wonder what my daughter may have as at the mo she too has very beautiful and piercing blue eyes. Iโ€™m blue and father brown so who knows what she may have. She does have red hair too which neither of us have๐Ÿ˜

What a gorgeous boy ๐Ÿ˜ My own little Louie has very striking blue/grey eyes too and both myself and his Dad have brown eyes. I looked it up and apparently thereโ€™s only something like a 6% chance he will grow up to have blue eyes, but itโ€™s possible as both myself and my husband carry a blue gene from one parent. I did wonder if they may still change as thereโ€™s a picture of me when Iโ€™m old enough to be sitting up unaided in the bath and mine are still blue, but I think Louieโ€™s baby-blues are here to stay and thatโ€™s fine I love them. He has blonde hair too, which neither of us have, but otherwise looks a lot like his Dad with a fair bit of me in there too.

Itโ€™ll be interesting to see if any of our little onesโ€™ hair/ eye colours change over time, as remember both nephews and my nieceโ€™s did quite a bit when they were all little xx

Aw another Louie ๐Ÿฅฐ my mother in law mentioned that my partners blue eyes changed to brown at 3 months and I know mine were always brown so we shall wait and see. I know it's a small thing but I just love them ๐Ÿ˜Šx

Same for us. Mary-Elizabeth is 13 months old and still has "blue" eyes. They used to be obviously blue when she was younger but now they appear different if you look at them from a different angle or in a certain light - almost like a green tint around the middle and grey around the edge. Hubby and I are both brown eyed too though my Mother is blue, Father brown and his Mother was brown and Father is blue so maybe they can get their eye colouring from grandparents too? xx

I think there is definitely input from grandparents genetically! But the only blue in either of our family is on my side, nothing from my partners side at all. I find it all very interesting ๐Ÿค” x
