Firstly, if you skip daily contraceptive there's a high chance that the protection against pregnancy might not work as effectively as it's supposed to be. One of my friends skipped just one and got pregnant - I'm pretty sure anyone on birth control won't appreciate that. If you leave out taking our pills in mid-term it's ideal to start afresh i.e. a new cycle whenever you choose to resume be it with or without an AF in the non-pill period. The bleeding you described sounds like pill effect to me but there's still a slight chance that it could be implantation bleeding if you've had unprotected sex anytime when you were off the pill. Sadly, some implantation does last more than the stipulated 2-3 days, especially when it's as less as spotting. I'd suggest you take an HPT if you think there's a chance you can be pregnant. If not go ahead with a new pack of pills - the weight gain can't be excluded though.
