So Llewy is 7 weeks now and I'm breastfeeding. I didn't think I would have a period but I'm having some light bleeding. Anyone else have this? 🤷🏽♀️
Breastfeeding and periods: So Llewy is 7 weeks... - Baby and Us
Breastfeeding and periods
I haven’t had one since the month before our bfp which would be November 2018 now! I’m breastfeeding too. One or two of my nct class friends who are breastfeeding have either had light bleeds already or a full flow. Quite early on. One or two, like me, have seen nothing. I guess that’s why breastfeeding shouldn’t be used as a reliable form of birth control xx
Hey 👋🏻 let’s bump this post because you’ll never guess who 7 months into breastfeeding has just got their period tonight?............ 🙌🏻 I think I’m in shock 😮 First period since before my last transfer in November 2018! I didn’t think I’d get one while breastfeeding either, not when it’s been 7 months 🤷🏻♀️ xx
How bizarre!! After 7 months as well 😳
I know right? Especially after commenting on your post last night 🤪 xx
Are you finding it like your normal period? I think mine is more like spotting than an actual period. But it's still weird this early x
Hi are you sure it's period, it still may be postpartum bleed as uterus is still shrinking?🤔 I am still bleeding a bit and it's been 6 weeks. Apparently bleeding/ spotting can stop and restart.
How is Llewy doing 🤩?
Could be! It's very very light. I stopped bleeding at about 3 weeks but if it stops and starts its a possibility 🤷🏽♀️
Llewy is really struggling with his tummy, he gets terrible trapped wind and cries uncontrollably for hours every night the poor thing. I'm sure there's something going on with him as his nappies have been green and slimy but everyone says it's normal 😩
How about you, how are you getting on?
I think slimy green poo is pretty normal. Leo had a lot of discomfort around that time too. Our pediatrician explained that they're still learning how to poop and the sensations coupled with gas can be upsetting.
Have you been given some techniques to relieve gas such as rubbing the tummy clockwise or rubbing the lower back? I'm sorry your little one is so uncomfortable! I found it quite upsetting in the early days not being able to comfort Leo. Xx
It's so upsetting! We do baby massage most evenings which sometimes helps, it's hit and miss with him really. He really works out his poo, wriggling and pushing it out, sometimes it takes him a few hours x
