Hi everyone Im just wondering how is it possible to get some kind of support worker I've tried everything I can think of but there's nothing out there. It's like you get diagnosed autistic and left. I have mental health issues also which I get no help at all. It does feel unfair so I guess I'm just seeing if anyone has any ideas thanx

Hi Stevo70,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble finding some help.
I don't know if you've tried these already, but there's the Autism Services Directory from the National Autistic Society - autism.org.uk/autism-servic... which can list various autism-related services in around your area. A lot of services are typically aimed at families and children, but hopefully there are some services for adults too.
The other thing I would suggest is to have a chat with your GP about this, as they might know steps to help you find someone who can support you. I'd be really specific about what you want help with for both the autism and mental health.
There is also free online counselling available via IeSO Counselling, which is CBT based, and I've used it before. I don't know your whole situation of course, but it might be of help to have someone to chat to about both the autism and/or the mental health issues too. iesohealth.com/
Sending you all the very best
Social services for disability should help you find support worker or carers
Thank you I'll look into that today
im exactly the same i got my diagnosis then was left i struggle a lot i speak to my doctors so im starting thearpy again i feel very lonely and confused in this world
Hi thanks for the reply. I have someone who works at the brain charity whose trying to sort help for me. I don't need washing etc but it's the mental side she's looking into things for me so hopefully something happens. I understand how U feel it's pretty ridiculous that nobody helps. Mental health services kinda say your autistic it's not our responsibility yet autism services say we can't do anything for you. CBT doesn't work for me so I'm hoping something like a welfare call or visit each week. I hope you start to feel better about things. And trust me there's many like us. Thanks again
There might be a local charity who can help depending on your area or the local council should provide a needs assessment.
