Hi Noidea1812,

Was it the school who told him this? as this could be your son's pathway into a diagnosis and then support at school for your grandson. My friend was told similar about her son and the school helped by making a referral but, be aware you sometimes have to push to get things moving. Not everyone with ASD gets tics and the Dr may just be responding to that ? Your son can ask for a referral if they get worse or are interfering with his life. Your son can also ask your Dr for a referral to get a diagnosis for ASD. My own experience is that ASD was mentioned in high school and CAMHS were involved and we worked with them, the school and local authority to get the support needed which was one to one in the end.
