Hi greatautismguy,
Nice to meet you.
Sorry to hear you are feeling lonely. I'm also High functioning too :).
There are some online resources out there which could hopefully help you connect with some more people. The National Autistic Society has a number of resources and directories to services across the UK - autism.org.uk/what-we-do/he... including an online community and a services directory - autism.org.uk/directory which can help you find resources near where ever you may be, including perhaps some local peer support groups, if you search by your area.
There are also a lot of facebook groups too, which are run by and for people on the spectrum who can share their experiences.
There's also a wonderful organisation called Andy's Man Club, which is "a talking group, a place for men to come together in a safe environment to talk about issues and problems they have faced or are currently facing". It is mental health focused, rather than just banter etc., I believe. I've got a friend who attends and finds it really nice, some guys don't even have to talk if they don't want to. It's just about being there for each other. And you can also attend online if not in person. andysmanclub.co.uk/
I hope these can come in handy and that you can feel better soon.
Best,
