Worsening symptoms? Feel lost!

Hi all! Has anyone had a child (3.5 years if important) diagnosed with autism spectrum (former aspergers side if relevant) who had behaviors that regressed and/or got worse? I have drs sending me in a million directions and no one willing to help and some drs even contradicting their own info and prior suggestions and feel lost! What did you do and what helped? I didn’t think it was typical for autism to regress or get worse?!? Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through, that sounds really tough. I'm not sure if I can offer much thoughts on a young child's symptoms, though i'm on the spectrum myself (I was diagnosed as an adult, and sometimes I find my symptoms get more intense at different times, like if i'm under more pressure or not feeling myself). In terms of being sent in every direction by doctors, have you tried any organisations or support groups local to you for families with autistic children? The National Autistic Society has a resource for families, including a list of local branches. They have resources for families or individuals dealing with autism - autism.org.uk/what-we-do/fa... including resources and an online community too. There's also an Autism Services Directory: autism.org.uk/directory which means you can search for specific services in your area who might be able to support you with your little one. Hope this helps
