Autism diagnosis ?

My 12yr old son has recently been diagnosed with Dyslexia & Dyspraxia via a set of school tests - but it has been suggested that he may have autistic tendencies like lack of social skills & being easily agitated. Where do I go to get a firm diagnosis - GP ?

Hi,

First off all you go to your GP and ask for a referral to CAMHS. My next advise is to read everything you can about Asbergers. Read The Reason I Jump .Go through all the different websites and blogs online and pick out all the issues your son has.

My sons were diagnosed in late teens with Asbergers, CAMHS clueless. Youngest has ADD as well. Now battling the system to get a diagnosis of Pathological Demand Avoidance PDA.

Make sure you go through my previous responses , loads of evidence of what to look for on those.

Good Luck.
