Lying, thinking

Last night

How to find my soul a home

Where water is not thirsty

And bread loaf is not stone

I came up with one thing

And I don't believe I'm wrong

That nobody,

But nobody

Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone

Nobody, but nobody

Can make it out here alone.

There are some millionaires

With money they can't use

Their wives run round like banshees

Their children sing the blues

They've got expensive doctors

To cure their hearts of stone.

But nobody

No, nobody

Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone

Nobody, but nobody

Can make it out here alone.

Now if you listen closely

I'll tell you what I know

Storm clouds are gathering

The wind is gonna blow

The race of man is suffering

And I can hear the moan,

'Cause nobody,

But nobody

Can make it out here alone.

Alone, all alone

Nobody, but nobody

Can make it out here alone.

You write poetry... so do I. I'm published. Nice to meet someone likeminded :)

I'll share one of mine in return. Going by your own poem, this will probably carry meaning for you.

Why the caged bird sings

Broken hearted I think I'll die

Don't know how you all get by

Like the phoenix caged I cry

I yearn to soar high in the sky

I get why the caged bird sings

It's containment and many things

The sadness being chained brings

Not able to spread it's wings

This whole world has yet to see

The absolute best that I can be

But that's never happening to me

Until you finally set me free

Tomorrow is still another day

See me trying to joke and play

But inside I'm all dark and grey

'Cause I'm just containments prey

~To be truly free, one must first cast off the shackles of society and the constraints of life. Only then will you finally soar.~
