Ditto, feels like i sleep half my life away recently. I'm 46 which isn't old in my opinion but i can have a good 8-10 hours sleep at night and still need another nap having maybe been up for only 3 or 4 hours. I do have a Vitamin D deficiency which doesn't help but i sympathise with you IT IS SO ANNOYING!. I have heard "SUNSHINE" is supposed to help although i cant say i've felt the benefits.

I must admit I'm kind of glad to hear I'm not the only one, it's so annoying but I often need to sleep even after 8 to 10 hrs at night,I've never really spoken about this attaxia for 20 yrs but its getting me down now

Hello

There is no doubtt that feeling tired goes with CA and there is nothing you can do about it.

I get fatigued after the simplest of tasks. It makes me mad. I rest between tasks trying not to sleep because I don't want to interfere with my night time sleep pattern. Sometime it is all I can do to propel my chair. When I think what I used to do!! Still you can't go back.

I think the answer is to pace yourself, do one thing and then rest, even if you feel o/k.

Take care

Regards

Carol

I have CA too. I don't yet experience tiredness but my brain must get fatigued because my walking and talking is worse in the evening.I sleep well at night but have been iknformed I do a lot of shouting and talking in my sleep.I wake up feeling ok but I do feel weary of the struggle to walk and do everyday things now.

I have simmilar experiences to Silkwood. I don't usually tire easilly but on occasions I do suddenly feel extreme tiredness. I feel like my brain is being gently squeezed and makes me feel funny and very relaxed. I'm not sure what causes it but when it occurs I also get other weird-like symptoms like a kind of dizziness as well. Also when I feel like this I get quite startled by the slightest of noises. For example, if I'm lying in bed and a door shuts or the phone rings it sounds very loud and I jump and shudder. So weird!

Hi jayjay 2451 hope you're coping, I also get very tired even after a goood nights sleep, I thought at first it was just me but know its caused byt SCA, I live in Spain & yes sunshine has made a difference (10 yrs) even though the last few years have been tiring. Rest a lot, I find it frustrating but it has to be done.

Take care

I quite agree.

I never thought my feeling I´m lacking sleep might be caused by SCA.

But, one HAS to fight this.I know people who sleep and sleep until they are

dead.

That´s why I ask my wife to kindly drive me to physical therapy 2 or three times

a week. ( I do make a point being dressed properly !!)

I can´t be late. Once I was - that was VERY embarrassing
