Can anybody help me ? Having used a 4 wheeled trolley with 2 trays for years and years for transporting hot drinks and water, meals and anything that my husband needs. I now find I am having to use my electric wheelchair with difficulty not being able to ‘carry ‘ anything. My husband was my carer until April 2023 when he had a stroke and so I am trying to care for him.

Have you tried occupational Heath?, I’ve found them very helpful when I’ve had to call on them. Please know I’m thinking of you and your husband.

I have used a "Spillnot " (available on Amazon for £10) for the past few years and have never spilt a drink since.

Thank you for your help. Our daughter has been here today so has been looking at all possibilities as my wheelchair is quite unusual.

I do sympathise as I'm full-time manual wheelchair and my hubby has Parkinsons. He can still help though. I would say do not carry hot drinks in wheelchair but as previous comment contact OT for advice. We all have different homes and needs so you both need personal advice. Stay safe and don't forget to smile 😊

So nice to hear from you,Patsy. I hope your husband’s Parkinson’s is manageable. Life is quite different when our husbands are not able to help us like they did in recent years. It is hard for us all now.As you say circumstances vary a lot. I’ll try the O.T.again,thank you for your interest.

HiIf your wheelchair is from your wheelchair service you can contact them and ask them to have a tray for your wheelchair. Depending on the make there are many options. You can get one that will lift and store on your armrest so it's not in your way all the time. They may need to do a home visit to check access etc for any adaptations.

Hope this helps - good luck.

. I have had wheelchairs from the wheelchair service before but as I was still trying to walk but felt I needed an indoor powered chair the wheelchair service said I wasn’t eligible so we had to buy one ourselves.I’ll check to see what’s suitable. Thank you for your help.
