It’s been 2 years battling this beast🥵 6 months ago new neurologist put me on bi-weekly b-12 shots and has made HUGE improvement in lifestyle.

Still get funky last few days before my next shot but overall life is much better. Some days I can even drive!!!

I’m in Buffalo NY, USA area so if anyone is around here let me know?

I’ve only been told ataxia nothing else. It took me some time to find neurologist who identified severe b-12, first month weekly shots then bi-weekly, life changed drastically after!

🙂It’s good to hear you had such wonderful results..there are some Ataxias that are caused by deficiency, and intervention can make a huge difference

Vitamin B12 deficiency is common in the population over 80 (about 10%). It can be a cause of unsteady gait (ataxia),

Vitamin B12 just cured your ataxia! This is truly fantastic, so I'm guessing that your disease is not hereditary and you just have a B12 deficiency due to metabolic reasons, which in turn leads to ataxia. You are so lucky that your disease is cured, you are awesome.

Hi Smith224,

That’s wonderful to hear you have found treatment. I’ve just popped on to read threads. I too had acquired ataxia. Vitamin B12 deficiency identified and treated but it took 10 months to find, I was also vitamin E deficient.

You are welcome to come onto the Pernicious anaemia (vitamin B12 deficiency) part if you wish.

Best wishes to all

B12 does nothing for me, as I am not deficient. I Wish it could!
