I have suffered ataxia for some ten years. Although the trend of the condition has been unremittingly downwards, the decline accelerating of late, my condition still seems to be very variable from day to day. Can anyone suggest somewhere where I can request a wide ranging allergy test. I feel certain that something is causing these variations. I'd be grateful for any advice on this matter.

🙂 I was misdiagnosed in the 1990s, and finally had a formal diagnosis of Idiopathic Cerebellar Ataxia in 2011. Initially my symptoms tended to fluctuate, I found it very confusing, trying to make plans in advance didn’t work..Over time I recognised something of a pattern with symptoms...and my Neurologist suspects I may have Episodic Ataxia. Symptoms come and go with degrees of severity, although generally ataxia has been steadily progressive and degenerative.
Possibly the cheapest, though not quickest route to allergy testing, would be via your GP. Otherwise, a search via google would give information..
I had nhs allergy test some years ago and they just found nickel positive. I still have eczema on my hands. I use prescribed barrier gel. I also had gluten blood test but that apparently can be false negative.. I did have a postal test using hair sample which gave some interesting results for food sensitivities but couldn't recommend as it's a bit random. Good luck. X
After an initial fast downward progression it only went down fast after every fall or other health mishap. Never any allergy. But my son had a general test In the USA. Nothing was found.
Any test always goes through a GP. If you can’t see anybody now maybe a phone call or letter helps to get an appointment.
