🙂 There are lots of different rollators on the market, recommendations are good but if at all possible it’s best to ‘try before you buy’. Some people find light support is enough to make them feel safe, while others need a sturdier rollator, or even an Upwalker. I’ve used my rollator for almost 10yrs, it’s very lightweight and it was all I needed at one time, but now my balance is worsening I’d feel safer with a heavier type.
Mine is called ‘Let’s go Out’ by Trust.
Hi Wobblybee, is the 'lets go out' the lighter or heavier rollator that you have? Thanks
It’s just about the lightest Ian 🙂
The Let's Go Out outdoor rollator is light weight, smooth and steady. It weighs only 6.4 kg and is easy to fold. Needs little space and stands by itself when folded.

It is definitely best to go to a shop if possible.
I had to buy one in a hurry because I have ataxia and then I had an ankle injury. I looked online and my hubby went and collected it from the shop.
It is fine indoors but no use outside on bumpy ground or on a gentle slope.
I have a four wheeled folding model, which is useful for putting in the car. My mother, who also had ataxia, had a three wheeled model for years but then she was advised by OT that it wasn't stable and would not stop her from falling.
My husband has a folding zimmer - much easier to transport and store when he goes out. Approx £60 on amazon, it folds like an umbrella and is lightweight.
Drive or Nitro are good x
Bigger wheels at front smaller at back x
If you have time then go to a mobility store to try one. As suggested earlier you can do with a light weight one or need heavy weight sturdy one. One thing is to only buy a 4 wheels Walker the 3 wheel Walker are not sturdy for balance. Good luck
After my mum had a stroke she had a few walkers that I tried to fix when they broke .. get the best you can afford from the advice here and then paint it pink yourself with modellers paint, flowers whatever, have fun as Bob Ross says 🌸
You need a specialist to set it up for you. Correct posture is more important to minimise strain on your arms back and legs
Hi I also need to use a walker mine was supplied by the OT It has 4 wheels and there is a seat which lifts up. to reveal a little too tray It is handy to hàve a seat if you need to stop ànd have to a wee rest.
I HAVE A U-STEP 2 WALKING STABILIZER for neurological conditions
I love my walker!
