Hi Louise.

Tipping of taxi drivers is down to you, but dont feel obliged, taxi firms normally charge over and above the standard fare when the fare is not paid by the individual passenger, I know, I used to be a Private Hire driver! 😀

When i worked i used access to work and got taxis, but i had to contribute 25p amile. It was 5 miles each journey. So £1.25 i had to pay. I made it up to £1.50.. cost £15 over the week. But bus fare would have cost this anyway.

i did not tip the taxis I used when I did not have a car. They were contracted by NHS. I did not pay anything. None of them got extra recognition for the extra help they did. I am averse to using taxis for personal reasons.

If you feel a driver has gone above their remit, maybe reward them.
