The cerebellar cognitive affective/Schmahmann syndrome

You probably know all about this already - in which case apologies, but my other half got very excited and says it explains a lot about me.

Basically if you have ataxia you have varying degrees of this too and it is explained well here

I too recognise myself in the description of Cerebellar Cognitive disorders.

This is an excellent item and can be used to illustrate the symptoms of Ataxia for the many occasions I am asked about it.

I run a Support Group in NW Surrey and I will be forwarding the link to all of our group with the suggestion that they then forward it to their own friends & family.

Many thanks for sharing Litty.

Hi Litty,

This all sounds quite familiar too!!! I don't know how many times I'd dinged our car - have just replaced it and trying to be ultra careful with new one!!! Also the word finding - which I was putting down to fatigue and emotionally - cry at the drop of a hat - my kids find it very funny as cry at slightest thing - we have movie night every Saturday and half the fun for them is how long will it take for mammy to cry!!!

Dear Litty, Thank you for sharing the video on cerebellar cognitive dysfunction! I have ataxia due to late onset Niemann Pick C1 disease and really never knew why I had many cognitive dysfunctions, as named in the video. I always blamed them on having ataxia, but it's very enlightening to finally have a true answer! Thanks again..., ;o)

Tragically Dr Schmahmann was the one connection I made that I thought would make a difference but he has taken a new job with the NAF and is no longer interested in studying “supplements”. I believe the low hanging fruit belongs to preventing the next generation from suffering but there is no glory in that.

thanks for that. Verifies what I thought, but has never been confirmed. I seem to have many of these problems. Do you know how I can copy this link to send it to my family please
