Hi😊 A good source of information are the Fact Sheets found on ataxia.org One of these gives several examples of exercise for people coping with ataxia. 😊xBeryl
I can email you some of my exercises to do if that helps you 🤔
I'm 32 and just diagnosed with ataxia, pure cerebella kind.
I've also got a 4 week old little girl so time is very precious. soi find that while cleaning my teeth I either do on one leg, or with my feet together and my eyes closed, it surprised me how much better the day is if I start of with that.
Also it's well know that weights can help with CNS firing, however get done advise before starting weights, I'm OK with them at the moment and I find the extra strength is a bonus.
The other thing that the neurologist asked me to do was get a Wii and play the balance games, it has helped but I wish the system faster as a whole as it's designed for children and family and not as a therapy tool...
Anyway just my view, whatever you do keep moving forward
I went gluten free after I saw a kinesiologist and although I had the gluten blood tests they do with ataxia nothing showed up but it had an amazing effect and it has definitely slowed progression radically. I have a dog and walk 2 x daily, recently given up alcohol (apparently a no-no when you have ataxia but only just found out. Do physio and exercise daily. I definitely feel lots of my problems have been helped by developing muscle memory. It sucks the knowledge that I will have to do certain things most days for the rest of my life but it is much better to feel I am doing something to help myself. Good luck.
