I have spinocerebellar ataxia type 6.i get so so much pain in my body ie legs hands feet arms.the most painful are one of my legs does anyone suffer with this and if so what do you do to help yourself.i still work and do everything family etc .thank you

Hi Kareen😊

There are medications recommended for various symptoms😊  Even a little relief is better than none.  Ask your GP, if he doesn't know of anything ask him to look on ataxia.org and at the FACT SHEET for MEDICATIONS😊xB

Dear Kareen,  I agree with Wobblybee! Although, I very occasionally take over-the-counter ibuprofhen. I'm not on any other prescription med's for pain, as I'm personally hyper-sensitive to prescription meds. I find if I can rest my legs/body for a time, that seems to help me. I also ice my knees if they get really bad. My best to you...,;o)
