Dear Foffee11, I'm not sure about a Keto diet, I just know that for every pound you lose, is seven pounds of weight off your joints. Therefore, I would think that losing weight helps with the balance issues of ataxia. I've lost 30 LBS thus far (on Weight Watchers) and it's helped my balance! I hope to lose at least 20 more. I have noticed less stress on my feet although my knees are a mess, and losing more weight would help I hope, as well as improve my balance even more! Neta, a Keto diet is a low-carb approach to weight loose. If you Google it, you'll find lots of information on-line..., ;o)

Hi foffee😊

Some Ataxias are associated with epilepsy. Medication wasn't helping me with deja vous, so I tried the Ketogenic diet.

"Epilepsy is considered refractory ( not yielding to treatment) when 2 or 3 anticonvulsant drugs have failed to control it. When drugs fail, other options include epilepsy surgery, vagus nerve stimulation and the Ketogenic diet"

I haven't adhered to the diet for a while, but thinking back, my recollections were that

overall I did feel better in myself while I was on it😊xB

I am on ketogenic diet and it helps with everything. I eat lots of cocooil, oliveoil and grassfed butter.
