I had a lovely day yesterday nothing to exciting just sat down to watch a bit of tv then bam i couldn't move , my mouth started to slowly open and my tongue stuck out, then it shut and i couldn't open it . I couldn't say a word .I kept thinking to my husband turn around and look at me but he didn't, not that he could of done anything . I notice i didn't swallow very much and when i did it was a struggle. I finally came out of it does it happen to anyone else ? No shakes .

Hi Maber:-)

That must have really thrown you, not literally of course.

I have heard of people 'freezing'. If you haven't already

been seen by a Neurologist who specializes in Ataxia

( I know I've said this before), ask your GP to refer you

to your nearest Ataxia Centre.

London, Sheffield or Newcastle whichever is best for you.

Most hospital Neurologists have certain conditions which

are their special interest, they can diagnose SCA but for

the very best advice ask to be referred.

Best wishes :-)xB

HI WOBBLYBEE

SORRY FOR THE CAPS EYES ARE REALLY BAD . I HAVE JUST NOTICED YOUR REPLY AFTER MANY MONTHS , THE NEURO IS VERY GOOD AS THE SHAKES HAVE STOPPED ALMOST TO LITTLE SHAKE LOL AND I JUST GET THE REALLY BAD TREMORS SOMETIMES SO CAN'T GRUMBLE .

I THINK WITH MY BAD EYESIGHT IT WOULD BE REALLY HARD FOR ME TO GO DOWN ( LIVE IN SCOTLAND ) AND I SURPOSE IF I WAS HAVING TREMORS MORE OFTER ( DEPENDS ON STESS OR TIREDNESS ) I WOULD PUSH IT BUT NEURO HAS BEEN GOOD AND SEES ME EVERY 6 MONTHS FOR AN UP DATE AND IF THERE IS A PROBLEM LIKE MY SWALLOWING SHE SENDS ME OFF SO I COUNT MY BLESSINGS FOR HER .

I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU : - )

That has never happened to me, but have heard of it happening to others with ataxia. I'd take Beryl's advice and be referred to a neuro that specializes in ataxia. My best to you...,;o)
