Anyone On Dymista?

Hi! So, I am currently taking Dymista spray due to severe hay fever and eustachian tube dysfunction, I was prescribed this a year ago but was previously on Avamys. As my hay fever has kicked in I happened to check the patient leaflet to see if I was on maximum dosage (I work in a nursery and with all of the Corona virus fears I wanted to be in the best possible health) I saw however, that there is a warning about bronchospasm as a side effect! I haven't had anything at all like this, so I am probably worrying over nothing, but it got me thinking if it would be advisable to speak to a dr and find an alternative, just in case I was to get this virus I don't want to be at any more of a risk than I am already! I don't want to over react though and I know drs are under immense pressure at the moment so I don't want to bother then unnecessarily. I take Clenil Modulite 2x a day and I take 3 Activastine antihistamines per day x

Hey! I’m on Dymista too. I think it was initiated about 2-3 years ago. I tend not to look at information leaflets of medication for this reason. I personally will be continuing to use mine, even with the seeded COVID looming however, I think that you need to look at the benefits of using Dymista vs the risk of not using it. There are alternatives but I’m pretty sure this is the strongest and most effective available.

Ultimately you need to do what’s best for you. How about having a chat with your local pharmacist or even your consultant? I’m sure they’ll advise you and help you make the most informed decision.

Good luck and stay well 🙏🏽

Thank you so much! I really don't want to stop it because of how much better my hay fever was last year on it, and it helped massively with my ear, and I'm fairly sure it's the strongest one the gp put me on, and I know if I drop down to something weaker, especially with my hay fever starting, it'll ruin my ear and flare my asthma anyway! I think I will try and speak to a pharmacist tomorrow! Thank you! I was advised when I saw my GP a couple of weeks ago to social distance and work from home (this isn't possible as I work in a nursery, and all of the guidance we receive is so confusing and ever changing!) Hope you stay safe too xx

We've been advised that it's very important to keep taking our meds in order to have our asthma etc as under control as possible.

Keep well and stay safe.
