Asthma or PND ?? Please help!!

Hi some advice needed. My son (12) was diagnosed with cough variant asthma and dust mite allergy after a viral infection in January. However the only thing to work is Montelukast. Inhalers don’t make a difference at all. He has no chest tightness, wheezing etc Just a cough. We decided to take him off the Montelukast and everything was fine for 3 weeks. Now he has had a stuffy nose, sore throat and cough is back (3 days). Should I put him back on the Montelukast or is there anything else I could try? The reason we stopped Montelukast was for behavioural issues. Many Thanks

Sorry to hear your son is suffering, sounds like you still need to get to the bottom of it all. Can I suggest you give the Asthma UK nurses a call to chat through his symptoms, triggers and meds, they'll be able to give you some advice on what to do next.
