I take 4 inhalers, Fostair 200/6, Spiriva Reptimist and Ventolin with a Fluticasone Nasal spray. My asthma nurses have advised a nebuliser for emergency use but NHS no longer fund. Does anyone else find these expensive

Hi

I got my home neb from amazon for about £45 though there are cheaper ones out there... the continuing cost is for replacement masks/tubing (£3-£5)

It may be worth speaking to your GP/consultant before getting one to make sure they are happy for you to have one (as someone needs to prescribe the nebules). I only got mine after about 18 months of almost weekly nebulisers at my GP and multiple a&e trips/hospitalisations. My consultant isn't too happy that I have one but my GP and I have come up with a system so I use it safely and know when to seek further help. I also have to let them know when I've used one (like with emergency pred pack).

Hope that helps

Hi - I got mine from amazon too. I started with one on loan from GP (my asthma was very all over the place at the time and I was waiting to see consultant)

Consultant authorised nebules and I get them on repeat prescription from GP.

I live far from both nearest hospital and my gps and my asthma can flare up badly at night. The nebuliser is a big help

Good luck
