I have been to the GP today to collect a repeat prescription for a fluticasone inhaler (Flixotide) to be told the practice does not prescribe these any more. The receptionist passed on the message from a doctor saying that they had received new ""guidelines"" that only mixed inhalers containing fluticasone and salmeterol were allowed (Seretide). This is despite my having been prescribed a combination of Seretide and Flixotide by my specialist at King's College Hospital, London, for a particularly difficult condition of lung damage combined with allergic asthma. Has anyone else come across this?

How odd.
It sounds like they need a kick up the backside from your specialist!
Get hold of your asthma nurse/dr at the hospital mine have always said if I get any problems with my GP not wanting to perscribe any of my meds I need to see them straight away
