Just wanted to share some good news for me that may help you too.
I switched from Seretide 500 Evohaler (the spray/aerosol type). to the Accuhaler (powdered version) in summer last year. I suggested it purely as I was at my wits end, I tried every other inhaler going and none of them worked. All the time my asthma has been worsening over the past 10 years, having to take Pred every summer, and eventually I was taking Qvar 100 in addition to the Seretide.
So my practice nurse agreed to try the Accuhaler and 6 months later...I haven't taken my Qvar for three months as I haven't needed it! I can only think perhaps the spray wasn't reaching my lungs (despite using a spacer) as effectively as the powder does. Or perhaps it was irritating my airway. The respiratory team are trialling me on Seretide 250 Accuhaler to see if I can cope on that. I never thought something as simple as switching to a different type of inhaler would bring about such an improvement, so it may be something to try if like me you were running out of options.

velly interesting ! I spoke to pharmacist now based at dox but he was hopeless compared to previous lady, had to look everything up. My Clenil is giving me asthma, Qvar even worse, so lady said just use Ventolin but asthma getting worse so mooted that was allergic to propellant but He giving me powder one now. Sez different drug so shall wait and see what arrives. Been back on Clenil and vmb so do need Preventer, seems have to try each see if helps.🙄
