Clarithromycin

Im taking clarithomycin for a chest inf,id gotten a cold and went on my chest,since I started tis however iv done nothing but ough my lungs up,I was so worried today I went to the docs,she examined me said my chest wasclearingng up ,but y the coughing ,I don't understand ,or is this the way clarithromycin works

A consultant gave me this just before I was discharged from hospital. It really helped getting rid of rubbish from my chest, however a side effect is it can affect your achillea tendon. It affected me I had to change to other medication

Hello Meg...I had this antibiotic when amoxycillyn did not work, but it did not work either!, and I was then given a week of steroids Prednosoline, which made me feel more ill...I ended up in hospital with pneumonia, and on coming out got swine flu....it is almost funny, but obviously not. I am now on doxycycline 100mg for 4 weeks. I have an ongoing lung problem, something is attacking my lungs and they have a lot of inflammation...hopefully after the bronchoscopy I had, we should get some answers soon. I have question marks about a lot of the antibiotics now. Bt the way, everyone should be taking acidophilus, it puts the good bacteria back into the intestines. Solgar is the best one to buy. Yoghurt does not quite do the trick as stomach acid destroys it before it gets to the intestines. Hope I have helped in some way Meg?

Ideally don't think this clarithromycon is working ,my peak flow is terrible,yet when I went to doctor yest she Sid it was clearing up
