Hello whinge :) A hard to answer question as we don't know your personal circumstances.

It would be a good idea for your to give the BLF Helpline a call as they have a mine of information on the benefits available. Their number is 0300 030 555.

All the best, and remember.........

Keep on keeping on !

Benefit isn't about the condition, it's about what you can, and cannot do. As suggested, ring the BLF and read up. There have been many posts here about this subject.

Hi

Have a look at ,Dos not include DLA for which you may be entitled

turn2us.org.uk/benefits_sea...

Do ring the BLF helpline

Hi whinge. If you have paid enough national contributions over the past 2/3 tax years you can claim contribution based benefit (either ESA or JSA) for up to 6 months. If you have any other income coming in then after that time you might or might not be able to claim depending on your circumstances. You need to decide whether you are unfit to work in which case you need to get a sick note from your doctor and ring up your local Jobcentre to claim ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) or if you are fit to work ring up and claim Jobseekers Allowance.

Depending on your circumstances again you might be able to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. The only other option is if your partner is working he/she might be able to claim working tax credits, and if you have dependant children child tax credits. Depending on the severety of your symptons you might be able to get DLA (Disability Living Allowance.

Hope this helps. I used to work for the Department of Work and Pensions.
