The Met Office has now upgraded their Yellow warning to amber for cold weather/icy conditions - this means that between 9am today and 7am Sunday there is a 90% likelihood of this happening.
I can confirm that it's blooming cold outside already! I've just been to let the dog out and got a blast of cold air. Not frosty, as it was at 4.30am, but still enough to take your breath away.
It's currently 3C/37F in Doncaster, dropping to 0C/32F by early evening, according to the forecast.
Lovely i have my tribunal for esa friday at 4pm and have to travel a round trip of 60 miles and to top that of my partner (and carer) has been called in to work so my younger siter who has ms has got to come with me aswell typical!
Come on Joe. Does that mean Wales and Scotland are going to be warm? Or do you not think the cold will equally apply to both other countries in the UK. And so the cold warning should be for the UK, not England. I am English. But live in Wales. And get sick of the whole UK seeming to the English to be England!!!! Or does the cold stop at the severn bridge?
We can only go on the information that is available and at the moment the only health authority to fund the Cold Weather Alert is England - the health departments in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do not appear to be funding this service. We are very aware that when we post these alerts it does only cover England.
Although this service does not cover the whole of the UK it would be wrong of us not to post these alerts just because the other nations are not included.
