I was suffering cramps in the face, jaw, feet, fingers and calf muscles untill I read a leaflet in the doctors waiting room about low potassium. One of the symptoms of low potassium was cramps and tingling sensations, I am having regular full bloods done so I asked the doc if my potassium was low. Well it was slightly outside the given tolerance but it was low. On the leaflet it said that bananas and peanuts were a good source of potassium so I bought some on the way home. After only a few day's of my new diet, no more cramps!. I only have about 3 bananas a week and the odd handfull of nuts but I've had no more cramps and my potassium levels are normal now on the blood test results. If your on water tablets as I am,eg furosemide, then this is what can cause you to lose potassium. The only side effect from your new diet is you want to climb trees and scream out EEK' a lot more than before. ;) Ha Ha.

I get awful cramps and spasms and often end up hopping around the room when it is in the legs and feet. But the ones I find more painful are the ones in the ribs, talk about take your breath away. I hope things improve for you soon. I gave up trying to rub them away as if I tried to rub feet the calf muscles cramped, and if I tried to rub them the thigh muscles cramped up. I wish you well as you do seem to be going through the wars right now xxxxx
