Crossed my mind with the beetroot - it can affect any sort of body waste (for want of a better word!!)
no nothing like that, i've got abit of a sore throat where i've been coughing
so much,
no but i did stop smoking saturday, and today i'm coughing like a goodun,
so i don't know,
its not the answer, but thankyou both for trying to help me, xxx
Lindierose if you have a sore throat and have been coughing tons it could be first signs of an infection. If you are coughing loads the pink sputum could be a little capilary, but you might want to get checked out at the docs.

i've never had a chest infection before, but i get ear and throat infections every
year, but never had this before, xxx
It would make me worried until I had an answer phoning the BLF helpline and speaking to a nurse before the weekend is good advice from annie80. Not being gross but is there a funny taste in your mouth when this happens.
yeah it tasts abit like salt i suppose,
Get an answer lindierose before the weekend. Could be something to do with the sore throat and coughing.

Hi
Most likely it is due to the coughing - you have a broken small blood vessel somewhere either in your throat or lungs so a small amount of blood is turning your sputum pink - it can be quite common and a bit scary the first time it happens.
It probably will stop over the weekend but if it gets worse or is still happening on Monday call your GP etc.
Mark
thanks libby and mark, its stopped for the moment so i'll just keep an eye on it, if it starts
again and gets worse i go to the walk in center or the hospital,

Hope it settles down rose.
I agree Rose. I think that all the extra coughing has burst a little capiliary. This has happened to me before when coughing a lot. A salty taste usually means an infection coming or a cold.
But best to check with the doctor - don't take any chances.

Hi Lindierose, I have experienced pink phlegm. I have bronchiectasis and before diagnosis I experienced pink to dark brown phlegm every time I had an infection and sometimes when I did not. I found it frightening. Please talk to your doctor and consultant as it is important that this information is known. After diagnosis I was given the correct meds and I feel better than I have for 3.5 years. Good luck. Maximonkey
