I can understand your frustration, Dee. I think you need to go back to your GP, and ask to have your present treatment reviewed. Possibly a referral to your consultant. Do you have a rescue pack of antibiotics? You do sound depressed so you need to make a strong point with your GP. Akl the best.
Hi and thank you I am getting depressed your right I spent Xmas new year and my birthday 18th Dec at home cos I was not well enough to go anywhere and as I live alone it was no fun.... I have had so many courses of antibiotics and steroids since last oct u can imagine ... they help for a week or so then the wheezing is back 😡 I just wondered if there was anyone out there that has or had this and any other tests apart from the sputum and the machine tests that I have had..?
Hi Dee. I've had it for 5 weeks and my GP sent me for a chest x-ray on Monday.
I would ask your doctor to refer you to a consultant so that you can get a proper diagnosis.
Good luck, and hope you're feeling better soon. Let us know how you get on. XXX
Are you a smoker?
Sounds like your cough is getting better, drink plenty of fluids & ask Gp for carbocisteine to help thin mucous. White appears no infection, then the lungs do a wash out process - white and thick white & then thin White/clear & foamy and ... then less, then gone, with a bit of luck - takes a couple of weeks for me, sometimes longer and maybe longer still for some.
Best wishes.
No not a smoker and thank u am back at doctors Tommorow will ask ...😀
Morning Dee, you have had some great replies and I am glad you are going back to your GP. Good luck to you. Xxxxxx
Hi Dee. I seem to have a permanent cough, sometimes worse than others. Phlegm does change colour and I find taking 1 Carbosistine daily helps me to clear my chest. I hope you feel better soon. Take care. Wendy.
