After needing emergency oxygen & treatment for a chest infection yesterday I have been advised to get my own OXIMETER DIGITAL FINGER TIP.

I got mine from amazon. You will need to take it when you visit your nurse just to check its reading against hers.

good luck. i did that and the oxygen nurse told me to go home and BURN IT, and yes it was registering the same readings as her £1279 machine and mine cost £105.that will record you sats over 24 hours looks like a wrist watch with a finger probe. also have others off ebay that cost £23 ,, £17 and all are pretty accurate . very useful thing to have, some doctors don't even have them yet. regards brian

Thanks for replying.... I have found one for that price on Ebay... Glad to hear you have had no probs...

Some cost a lot of money but operate no better than the cheaper ones. Mine was off Amazon and cost £9.99 but that was some years ago. I agree that it is a good idea to take it along to check its readings against another one.

got mine from amazon, and had no probelms, also got it checked with my nurse, works fine :)

We got ours from Amazon, £29.99p. It gives the same readings as the nurses. My husband always knows when he is feeling ill he checks his sats and if they have dropped, he uses his oxygen, it has never failed him yet.
